Two young men to face the court on Marijuana charges

ZIZ News…April 12, 2013 — Almost on a daily basis young men and women are picked up by the police for possession and trafficking in Cannabis.

The recent arrests involved Aldrin Hodge of Buckley’s Estate and Erringthon Fyfield of Lime Kiln Project.

They were formally charged for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Possession of Cannabis with Intent to supply which were committed on 10th April 2013.

Meanwhile, Oldain Daniel of Cotton Ground was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis, which was committed on 2nd April 2013 at Cotton Ground, and fined $500.00 which to be paid in three (3) months or in default will serve one (1) month imprisonment.

Robert Tyson France of Cotton Ground was convicted for the offences of Possession of Cannabis and Cultivation of Cannabis, which were committed on 2nd April 2013 at Cotton Ground, and fined $1500.00 for both offenses which are to be paid in six (6) months or in default will serve six (6) months in prison with hard labour.

Also at the District C Magistrate Court, Cleve David of Low Street was convicted for the offences of Larceny of Car Battery, Using a vehicle without the consent of the owner, and driving without a valid drivers’ licence which were committed on 16th March 2013. He was sentenced to one (1) year imprisonment with hard labour for Larceny, six (6) months imprisonment for using vehicle without the consent of the owner, and six (6) months imprisonment with hard labour for driving without a valid and unexpired driver’s licence. The sentences are to run consecutively.
