Update On Old Road Bay Road

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 19th, 2021 (ZIZ News) The Public Works Department has given an update on the ongoing work taking place at the Old Road Bay Road Bay Road.

George Gilbert is Chief Engineer at the Public Works Department and Project Manager for the Rehabilitation of the Island main road which includes the Old Road Bay rehabilitation project.

He said they have been experiencing some challenges in meeting the completion date for the project but they are expecting to have the road paved and ready for use by June of this year.

The Chief engineer also outlined the plans for the merging of the new road into the old road both near sprat net and the area leading to Basseterre.

He said the department also has plans for the old road and provisions are being made to provide access to those persons living along that road.

He said the department has met with the Commissioner of Police on site to work out where the new signage will be placed along the new Old Road Bay Road.
