Vernon Smithen takes Gold

Little Vernon Smithen was in second position for most of the race but timed his ultimate move to perfection. 

As the athletes neared the finish line he slipped past a tiring Rajaun Fyfield who had led most of the way.

This as the Jocelyn Liburd Primary School held its annual junior Boys cross country event or road run.

The event was held on Thursday 30th January in front of the entire school of cheering children and a number of parents and guardians who took time out to show solidarity with their children.

The race commenced close to the Gingerland Secondary School, along the main road, turn around at Brino’s shop and back to the school.

The top ten athletes were as follows
