Vickram Chanand stars in STPS win

Sports Page — An exciting half century by Vickram Chanand was the feature of the final preliminary game in the 2015 edition of the TDC sponsored Primary Schools’ Cricket league.

The match was played between the St.Thomas’ Primary School and the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School at the ET Willet Park on Thursday 9th July.

Chanand needed just 40 balls to plunder an attractive 66 runs, while Maurice Jones anchored the innings with his 35.

For the EPPS team, Tyger Browne, Steve Walters and Roberts, all got 1 wicket each.

When the EPPS team batted, the batsmen generally struggled, with Tyger Browne getting to 30 as the main scorer.

Vishwanah Singh got 3 wickets; Vickram Chanand 2 and Maurice Jones 2.

St.Thomas’ Primary won the encounter quite easily.

The grand finals will now be played at the ET Willet Park today, between the VOJN Primary School and the Charlestown Primary school.

The game is set to bowl off at 10 am.
