Wanted man surrenders

(ZIZ) Ian Pemberton, who was on the run from the police, has turned himself into police custody.

Information from the Police Public Relations Officer states that Pemberton, who was wanted by the Criminal Investigations Department surrendered himself to a police officer who then took him to the Basseterre Police Station on Sunday.

Pemberton was wanted for the offence of Battery On Police, Threatening Language and Escaping Lawful Custody which was committed on 15th December 2013.

Police commissioner Celvin Walwyn thanked the media and the public for their cooperation and assistance in this matter.

He also used the opportunity to encourage the community to be very concerned when ever persons escape from lawful custody of the police or places of confinement as those persons may be considered dangerous.
