Washington Archibald High Schools retains Athletic Championship

ZIZ News…March 25, 2013 — A packed Silver Jubilee Stadium witnessed the Washington Archibald High School take the TDC Inter-School Championships for the third consecutive year.

The three-day event turned out to be one of the most exciting competitions as the participating schools showed much determination to do well.

In the end, the WAHS showed they were the better school by winning 20 gold medals.

The other positions went to Basseterre High School with 16 gold medals, Charles E. Mills 11 gold medals, Charlestown Secondary with 10 gold medals, Verchilds High 9, CFBC 6, Cayon High 5, Gingerland Secondary School 4, AVEC 2 and Saddlers Secondary School in the bottom position with 1 gold medal.

Meanwhile, at the opening ceremony on Friday, the crowd was treated to the Aqua Vita Cheerleading Competition which was won by Washington Archibald High School with Cayon High School taking second place and Charles E. Mills Secondary School third.

The March Pass was won by the Verchild’s High School with a classy display that received applause from the crowd.

Next on the athletic calendar at the Silver Jubilee Stadium is the Milo Primary Schools Championship early next month.
