Watch out for the newcomers

CricketFilePhotoK(Sports Page)— Word on the street is that brand new entrants into the upcoming Primary Schools’ Cricket league which bowls off tomorrow Friday—20th June, Maude Cross Preparatory School must not be taken lightly.

It is understood that the school has been undergoing intense training and practice and coupled with some players from the Nevis Academy, they are expected to provide tough opposition for the more seasoned teams.

The players are expected to play supportive roles around the three main players: Kian Griffin; Ardie Liburd and Carlon Tuckett.

Whatever the final outcome, the rookie team guided by Coach Carl Tuckett and Headmistress Cherry-Anne Walwyn, who herself was a decent female cricketer, is expected to make some waves in the tournament.

The tournament bowls off tomorrow with the following matches:
10 am: C/Town v EPPS at ETW
VOJN v JLPS a the VOJN grounds

1.30 pm: IWPS v MCPS at the ETW
St.Thomas’ Primary v St.James’ at the VOJN grounds

The next round of matches will be played the following Friday-27th June
