Water Audit Workshop
ZIZ News…May 31, 2013 — Over a dozen participants from various sectors are being trained to become water auditors during a week-long workshop at the Water Department.
The goal is to give the persons the skills to manage and control water uses and expenses at their institution.
Alphonsus Daniel is one of the facilitators. He says one of the first steps is being able to read, understand, and explain the charges on a water bill.
A statement from the Water Department says almost half of the water distributed in St. Kitts is lost by leakage and the participants will be tackling that issue as well.
The Water Audit Training Programme falls under a larger project called “Reducing the risks to human and natural assets resulting from climate change.”
