Wesleyan Youths to host Grand Sports Fes’

IvorciaHanley-Browne-1Sports Page — Mrs. Ivorcia Haley-Browne recently announced that the Wesleyan youths of Nevis will be hosting a grand Sports Fes’ and family day as a part of fund raising efforts to send some thirty-six youths from St.Kitts and Nevis to attend the Wesleyan youths’ congress which will be held in Jamaica, starting on the 22nd July. The youths attending the congress will receive training in leadership skills and spiritual development.

Mrs. Hanley Browne noted that travel costs are extremely high but instead of just begging business places for donations; the youths are working overtime in several fund raising activities in an effort to help themselves.

On May 25th otherwise known as WHIT MONDAY which is a public holiday in the federation of St.Kitts and Nevis, the youths will host the Sports Fes’ and family fun day at the ET Willet Park, commencing at 10 am.

Several sporting activities will be held and there will be no gender or age restrictions. Everyone can participate.

Activities will include: Six aside Football and Cricket matches; and track events.

Cricket and Football teams will pay a registration fee of $30.00 with the winning teams receiving $300.00.

Athletic teams will pay a registration fee of $50.00 and the top three placers in each race will receive medals and the winning teams will receive trophies.

The admission fee into the ETW on the day is only $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children under 12 years of age.

Additionally, there will be the bouncing castle for the little children and much food and drink in galore.

It promises to be a fun filled way to spend the holiday.
