Willet and Liburd out of Leewards Squad

The Leeward Islands Cricket Association on Monday 27th January, announced that the following players have been selected for the upcoming NAGICO Super50 tournament in Trinidad.

Mr. Leroy Percival will manage the team, while Mr. Ridley Jacobs will be the team’s coach.  The Leeward Islands are grouped in Zone B together with host, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados and Combined Campuses & Colleges.  The Leeward Islands’ first encounter will be against the Combined Campuses & Colleges.

West Indies opening batsman, Kieran Powell will captain the team.  His deputy will be wicketkeeper, batsman Devon Thomas.  The NAGICO Insurance Super50 will be played from 30th January to 15th February, 2014.  The Leeward Islands team departs for Trinidad on Wednesday, 29th January, 2014.

Conspicuous by their absence from the team, are seasoned regional campaigners from Nevis, Tonito Willet and Javia Liburd.
