Political activist, business man and former educator Richard Caines celebrated his 86th birthday with the grade 5 students of the Dr. William Connor Primary School on October 4.
Mr. Caines first met the grade 5 students during his presentation at the Winston “Zack” Nisbett’s historical, cultural library and museum 35th Independence programme in September.
He said that he wanted his birthday celebrations to be a little different this year.
He also added that interacting with the students inspired his decision to celebrate with them.
The former educator said he has decided to adopt the class and expressed that he expects the best of them.
The students thanked Mr. Caines for his visit and presented him with a token of appreciation.
The fifth grade students were then treated with cake, drinks and lots of goodies as part of the birthday celebrations.
