Woman Charged for Possession of Ammunition

One woman has been charged for possession of ammunition following a search operation conducted by the police on October 2.

The operation was carried out at the ferry terminal late Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, officers intercepted a package that was collected from a ferry and upon searching it, five .38 rounds of ammunition were discovered.

As a result, two persons were taken into police custody.

One of the two individuals has been identified as Tameika Pereira, also known as Tammy of Prickley Pear Alley, who was subsequently charged for the offence of possession of ammunition.

She has since received bail in the sum of 7 thousand dollars with two sureties for her appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on November 5.

The second individual remains in police custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
