Work continues on 11 of the 26 buildings for Park Hyatt St. Kitts

Basseterre, St. Kitts, (CUOPM) — Construction of Park Hyatt St. Kitts Resort is underway.

Close to 16,000 man hours were carried out on site during the month of June and this is expected to increase exponentially over the coming months.

Range Developments said Thursday that work is underway on 11 of the 26 buildings, including the reception and meeting facilities buildings, that will comprise Park Hyatt St. Kitts.

Vertical structures are rising and the structure of the first building will be completed by mid- August.

The site team is working tirelessly to ensure the resort opens on schedule and delivered to the highest standards.

This luxury resort will have over three suite types ranging from 48m2 (485ft2) to 211.6m2 (2277ft2), excluding the palatial Presidential Suite that comes with butler service.

Many of the rooftop suites will include an individual rooftop pool with breathtaking views of our beautiful sister isles of Nevis and the calm turquoise Caribbean waters.

Final designs for the Park Hyatt St. Kitts scheduled to be completed by the end of 2015 were approved last November by Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s senior executive management team and project designers.

According to the plans, the development will benefit the island’s local communities in addition to helping to preserve the scenic natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.

The developers are committed to hiring and training Kittitians and Nevisians, well in advance of the resort’s opening, in delivering a luxury destination experience and managing an offshore resort.

Americas Group President of Hyatt Hotels Corporation Rakesh Sarna is on record as saying he was delighted to have achieved this significant stage in the development of Park Hyatt St. Kitts.

“It is an exciting time to see the plans for this hotel come to life, through its stunning design,” he said.

“We are very pleased to have achieved this milestone in the development process,” said Mohammed Asaria, Vice Chairman of Range Developments, developer of Park Hyatt St. Kitts.

He said he was looking forward to delivering one of the finest resorts in the Caribbean, in line with the expectations of the Government and people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Park Hyatt St. Kitts will be located at Banana Bay, Christophe Harbour, a 2,500-acre resort community being developed on St. Kitts’ southeast peninsula by Kiawah Developments.

Phase one of the resort will include the construction of 134 luxury rooms and related service facilities, conceptualized around a Caribbean village theme. The site includes a long stretch of picturesque golden sand beach and spectacular hillside views across to the nearby sister island of Nevis.

Kier, a global construction company based in the UK and a publicly listed FTSE 250 company, is the main contractor for Phase One of the construction of Park Hyatt St. Kitts.

Kier provides employment in construction and maximizing the use of local materials and resources.

Approximately 350 construction jobs as well as additional training programme jobs are expected to be created in Phase One.
