World Post Day 2019

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 9, 2019 (ZIZ News): On Wednesday more than 150 countries around the world, including St. Kitts and Nevis, celebrated the 50th anniversary of World Post Day.

The day which started on October 9th 1969, highlights the importance of the postal services and celebrates the work of postal employees around the world.

In an address in commemoration of World Post Day, Minister of Post Hon. Ian Liburd congratulated the leadership of universal postal union over the past 145 years.

He said the St. Kitts Postal Services is on a path of continuous learning as guided by the theme for world post day 2019.

Minister Liburd said postal staff will participate in several activities in commemoration of the day.

The Post Minister encouraged everyone to join the dialog as post offices are at the core of connecting communities.
