Yet Another Exciting Game In The Green Valley As Waterworks Edge Keys

Sports Page — Thursday 12th September 2013 — Seven goals and two hat tricks were the hall mark of another exciting encounter in the Green Valley League.

All this took place in the matchup between Keys and former champs Waterworks. The first of the two hat tricks started with Jelo Challenger who opened the scoring in the 17th minute for Waterworks. Things grew quiet after that and Waterworks walked off to the half time break with the slender lead.

The resumption saw quiet proceedings until half way through the second half when all hell broke loose. Joshua Liburd grabbed a quick brace to give Keys the lead. However the lead did not last as long as a hard boil egg as Jelo Liburd equalized the score board with his second strike a minute later. Joshua Liburd was the first to the hat trick when he sent Keys ahead again in the 81st only to watch helplessly when Jelo Challenger leveled the scores for a third time and in doing so recorded a hat trick as well. At that point only 6 minutes remained in the game and everyone settled in for a draw. Then up jumped Mr Akaizie Richards and proved to be the party pooper for Keys and the hero for Waterworks with a goal in the last minute of play.

That gave Waterworks their win first win after drawing their first two games while Keys has lost a second after winning their first game.

The league continues on Thursday with an encounter between Pub and Radicals.
