(ZIZ News) – 18-year old Philo Wallace of Hamilton, Nevis was fatally shot by police on that island.
Early on Saturday morning, news spread that the young cricketer had been shot at Enrique’s Bar, just outside the Elquemedo Willett Park where he played the sport he loved most.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force issued a statement confirming that a young male was killed by police on Nevis.
According to the release, “he was allegedly involved in an altercation with another person and the police.”
It continues, “The victim was transported to the Alexandra Hospital in a private motor vehicle and pronounced dead at 4.10 am.”
Wallace comes from a long line of cricket players. He is the son of Raphael Wallace, nephew of Eustace “Brother” Wallace and is first cousin to Akito and Tonitto Willett, the sons of Elquemedo Willett.
