Young man arrested in early morning drug bust

ZIZ News…Jan 27 2012 – In its ongoing drive to stamp out the illegal drug trade a special unit of the St. Kitts Nevis Police Force carried out a raid earlier this morning and made an arrest.

The Drug Unit led by Sergeant Rogers visited Stapleton Village at around five on Friday morning, searched the premises of Livingston Martin and found 2.2 Kilograms of cured marijuana and just over one Kilogram of Cannabis Oil.

Martin was taken into police custody along with drug find which is estimated at a street value of One Hundred and Forty thousand dollars.

The High Command of the Police Force has adopted a zero tolerance approach to the trafficking, use and abuse of illegal drugs in the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.

Investigations into this latest drug bust are continuing and the suspect is expected to be charged shortly.
