Young mother hospitalized following traffic accident

ZIZ News…Dec 28 2010 – A car accident near Mattingley Heights yesterday has put a young mother in the hospital.

22 year old Kenisha Mills and her one year old baby were rushed to the JNF Hospital last night after the car they were travelling in collided with an oncoming vehicle on the island main road near Ross University.

The baby was unhurt and was treated and discharged. Miss Mills has a broken leg and is currently at the hospital.

According to police reports, Mills and the baby were travelling towards Basseterre in motor car PA 867, driven by Trevis Brown when it collided with motor car P 8230 owned and driven by Carlton Williams.

Both vehicles were extensively damaged.

Inspector Cromwell Henry of the Traffic Department is reminding all drivers that the roads will be extra busy this time of year, so be extra cautions and stay under the speed limit.

He is also appealing to persons who are drinking to avoid driving and use public transportation or have a friend take them home.
