(ZIZ News) The country’s Education and Youth Minister, Hon. Shawn Richards expressed pride in the organisers of the two-day Crime, Greenhouse Technology and Leadership Workshop that was organised by the St. Kitts-Nevis Agricultural Youth Forum.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Thursday, Minister Richards said he was most proud of the organisers for their vision.
“Today, you stand ready to give of your energies and your capability in service to your communities and country. Today, you stand to further enhance your capacities and strengthen the foundations upon which you will build a future, upon which we can all be proud. Today, young volunteers, you do all of us your fellow citizens proud,” he said.
He added that the workshop was symbolic of the Government’s vision for youth development and served as a testament to the fruits of strategic planning, partnerships, collaboration, commitment, creativity and hard work.
“Initiatives such as these are well aligned with the mandate of the Department of Youth Empowerment and my Government to empower our young people to actively engage in the development of our Nation by becoming productive citizens of our sister isles. The Department of Youth Empowerment, through which our youth can explore their potential and expand their knowledge in practical ways contributing to the activities of the classroom,” he said.
