ZIZ’s Chaïra Flanders Representing St. Kitts and Nevis On International Development and Cooperation Press Tour in Taiwan

ZIZ Broadcasting Corporation’s Chaïra Flanders is among 10 media professionals from around the world who are in Taiwan as part of an international press tour on the economic advancements and political development of the Republic of China Taiwan.

Countries represented as part of the international development press group include Kiribati, Belize, Swaziland, St. Lucia, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Palau, Naru

St. Vincent and the Grenadines and St. Kitts and Nevis.

The first stop for the group was at Taiwan’s National Palace Museum which has more than 540 thousand pieces on display. The press group was treated with a V.I.P tour of the museum’s many exhibits including the Orientation Gallery, the Magic of Kneaded Clay: Ceramic Collection, Garland of Treasures: Masterpieces of Precious Crafts, Painting and Caligraphy exhibition and the very popular Jadeite Cabbage sculpture and the Meat shaped stone. The sculpture is seen as a symbol of female virtue while the stone is a piece of jasper creatively carved into the shape of pork.

The visit to the National Museum is just one of several activities being hosted during the week which will include stops to various national sites on agriculture, tourism, industrial technology, Education, the arts and medicine.

The group will also receive the honor of meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China Taiwan, Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu later on the tour.

The international press tour is facilitated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan and the Embassy of the Republic of China Taiwan in St. Kitts.
