Cabbage Experiment

Basseterre, St. Kitts, January 18th, 2021 (ZIZ News): Shoppers may soon see a higher quality of cabbage on the market as the Ministry of Agriculture conducts an experiment on growing various types of the vegetable.

According to Director of Agriculture, Melvin James the experiment is being conducted at the Tabernacle Outreach Centre and on Friday Department Officials and Agriculture Minister, the Hon. Alexis Jeffers visited the farm for an update.

Mr. James said the goal of the experiment is to determine which type of cabbage provides the best quality and is most resilient to external factors.

He said there are numerous factors to consider when analyzing the harvest and these pieces of data would be relayed to the farmers.

Mr. James said this was only the first of several experiments to be conducted and after further analyses a choice will be made on which type or types of cabbages will be produced in the future.
