SKCCU Hosts Health Drive
Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 18th , 2020 (ZIZ News): The St. Kitts Cooperative Credit Union SKCCU used the occasion of World Food Day on Friday to promote healthy eating through locally grown foods and healthy lifestyles with the offering of onsite health checks.
The event formed part of activities to commemorate International Credit Union Day 2020 which is celebrated annually on October 15th.
Marketing Officer at the St. Kitts Cooperative Credit Union Shalloyda Hewlett said the general public was invited but a special invitation was extended to member of the SKCCU.
She also spoke about some of the services offered at the Health Drive.
“We have farmers here selling produce—locally grown produce—we have Mr. Allister James on site of iRip Fitness Center facilitating us and he is gving us some health and fitness tips. We also have the nurses on site administering free blood sugar and blood pressure testing. We have free minor oral health checks from City Dental.”
International Credit Union Day was guided by the theme “Inspiring Hope for a Global Community”.
