East Basseterre Resident and Attorney at Law, Natasha Grey has embarked on an initiative to improve the literacy skills of the children in her community with the official launch of the East Basseterre Book Club.

A Reading Intervention Programme is being implemented in schools across the Federation, says Minister of Education, the Honourable Jonel Powell, during his contribution to the Budget Debate on December 18.

UNESCO has declared September 8th as International Literacy Day where the aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.
